When I first arrived at Zara’s house on her wedding morning, everything was calm. They had just had a Starbucks breakfast delivery and the girls were relaxing in between hair and makeup. Zara’s sister and matron of honour had designed all the stationery on the day so it was extra special getting those details shots.
Zara gave her bridesmaids individual presents and it was lovely to capture all their reactions. It’s so important to take quality time with your loved ones during your wedding day.
It was soon nearing the time for Zara to get into her wedding dress. While the hair and makeup were doing their final touch-ups, Zara decided she wanted to change her hair slightly before she got into her dress. Once she was ready, her sister and mum helped her into her dress.
She wanted to do a first look with her dad and his reaction says it all. Everyone was in tears and it was a beautiful moment to witness.
Once I arrived at Cultra, I headed to the Omagh Meeting Point to get some shots with the boys. They were taking a moment of prayer together before the ceremony.
When Zara and her bridesmaids arrived, we got some shots at the front door before they made their way down the aisle. One of my favourite parts of any wedding day is seeing the groom’s first reaction to his bride, and Jonny was so chuffed.
Their God-centred ceremony ended with the two of them enjoying their first communion as husband and wife before they walked down the aisle. It was really special.
Before we started getting some family photos, they enjoyed the well-wishes of their family and friends as soon as the ceremony was over. This is a great time to capture some candid shots of the guests before we start into the more formal shots.
We walked the short distance to the cobbled street to get some family and bridal party shots. Some of my favourites are the ones of Zara and Jonny with their niece, Emily, walking and having fun together.
The bridal party headed to the thatched cottage for more photos before they headed back to the Manor. With just the two of them, we headed around other areas of the beautiful grounds at the Folk Park to get some awesome wedding photos. These guys are just stunning together!
Zara’s family trains guide dogs and their latest recruit, Biscuit, made an appearance in the family photos. I love dogs so it’s always such a joy when pets are included in the official wedding photos. The one of him and Zara is awesome!
They made their first entrance into the Manor with some confetti – what better way to celebrate your new wedding bling!
As the speeches drew near, they spent some time with their guests and enjoyed their drinks reception. After an emphatic entrance, the speeches were underway. They were lots of laughs and some tears, particularly during Hannah and Zara’s speeches. I love it when brides decide to give a speech!
After they cut the cake, we went outside and got some sunset shots around the Manor. We took full advantage of the matching bride/groom sunglasses and got some beautiful photos.
Before the dancing started, they had a table quiz. This was a throwback to Zara’s sister wedding who got married during Covid and couldn’t have a party. It was great craic – I tried to help the top table with some answers but we weren’t that good!
One of the sweetest parts of the day happened during the dancing. After their first dance, Zara had one with her dad. She then surprised her sister by inviting her onto the dance floor to also have a dance with her dad, as she couldn’t do it on her own wedding day. Zara later joined them and her dad enjoyed a moment of celebration with his two daughters. It was so beautiful and there was tears all around!
Once everyone else had joined the dance floor, Jonny and Zara changed into their matching crocs to party the night away.
